Colleges / Campus scene : Coley Named a Dean at Cal State Fullerton
Professor Soraya M. Coley has been named Cal State Fullerton’s dean of Human Development and Community Service.
Coley, national director of the National Urban League’s Child Protection Project in the 1970s, began teaching at Cal State Fullerton in 1983. Recently, Coley and other faculty and staff members completed a three-year health education project for the Vietnamese Community of Orange County.
Coley also works as a consultant to local and state agencies on issues of domestic violence, such as monitoring and prevention, both in the United States and Germany.
The Lake Forest resident also serves on the board of directors of the Orange County Probation Community Action Assn. and is involved in projects conducted by the Volunteer Center of Orange County and several other groups.
