Simpson to Sponsor Abuse Fund-Raiser

O.J. Simpson is sponsoring a black-tie event to raise funds for Stop the Violence-Increase the Peace Foundation (June 22). The foundation’s president, Khalid Shah, stated, “We have dealt with ex-gang members who have murdered three and four people in their lives. We have to understand them. And we all deserve a chance for healing. I do not think there is anyone who is beyond reproach, who doesn’t have any skeletons in their closet.” Without a doubt, Simpson, in his effort at PR, is looking like a primrose by comparison. Let us not forget that he severely abused his murdered spouse.

Who must understand multimurderers? Sociopaths like these must be placed in the pit and the key thrown away. Only in Los Angeles two murders don’t count. The victims’ families need a chance to heal, not the amoral, barbarous, sub-humanoids who kill. They are beyond any social value or redemption.

* Despite L.A. County Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke’s comments regarding the Stop the Violence fund-raiser--that so many people are making money off this case, why not this Inglewood group as well--I sent a letter to Shah canceling our participation as the T-shirt vendor for this event.

There is no amount of money worth associating ourselves with Simpson. So you see, Ms. Burke, there are exceptions.
