JETHAWKS REPORT : A Little More Help From Above

Share

Bob Wolcott, the unlikely hero of the Seattle Mariners’ victory over the Cleveland Indians in Game 1 of the American League championship series last October, will pitch for the JetHawks on Wednesday at the Hangar.

Wolcott, 22, is not hurt, but he will miss his normal spot in the Mariner rotation because of the All-Star break.

Ricky Jordan, recovering from rotator cuff surgery, will play first base or be the designated hitter during his rehabilitation stint with the JetHawks. James Clifford and Shawn Buhner, who platoon at first base, will alternate at the spot Jordan is not playing. Designated hitter Doug Carroll will be temporarily bumped by Jordan’s presence.

Pitchers Chris Beck and Jeff Pearce, both on the disabled list, will undergo MRIs on Friday, trainer Rob Nodine said.
