Beachfront Arts Fair Begins This Weekend
More than 70 artisans are expected to line Ventura’s beachfront walkway this weekend for the first of several Summer Promenade Arts Shows.
The show, which runs from 10 a.m. to dusk, will take place nearly every weekend through Sept. 15 along Ventura’s promenade near the city’s historic pier.
“It is a typical outdoor arts and crafts show,” said Andrea Anderson, a city of Ventura marketing specialist. “You will find everything from pottery to woodwork to really nice jewelry.”
Bands will perform during show hours with Cletus Bumpus playing todayand the Drivematics taking the stage Sunday.
Anderson said the work of each artisan is reviewed by a committee before the artist is allowed to display the work.
No shows will be held the weekends of Aug. 17 and Aug. 24.
