Liz Phair’s new “Rocket Boy” is all lightweight cool-rock confection, and Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star avoids treading new ground, but Portis head singer Beth Gibbons’ tenacious bluesy style on “Glory Box” makes perfect sense next to greats Nina Simone and Billie Holiday.
