JetHawk pitcher Greg Wooten will miss his scheduled start tonight, giving way to Johnson and Bosio. The 6-foot-7 right-hander will start on Saturday.

Bosio, recovering from his seventh knee surgery, makes his second appearance for the JetHawks. According to Manager Dave Brundage, Bosio bribed the Visalia Oaks last time.

Said Brundage: “Before the game, Bosio said, ‘Hey, I’ll buy pizza for the team if no one bunts on me.’ ”

Johnson will throw 40 pitches or two innings. Bosio will throw 60 pitches or three-plus innings.

Scot Sealy will catch Johnson and Bosio.

“He’s the one who’s paid me the most money so far,” Brundage said.

Sealy caught Nolan Ryan as a Texas Ranger farmhand during spring training in 1993.

Said Sealy: “I was pumped, but I was nervous as hell.”

Outfielder Josh Watts, 21, will join the JetHawks today. Watts, on loan to Bakersfield, hit two home runs Wednesday night.

JetHawk outfielder Shane Monahan said he will have his broken right wrist examined today to check for ligament damage.

Monahan could be out four weeks. He leads the team with 411 at-bats, 122 hits, 22 doubles, 11 triples and 16 stolen bases.

“Monahan was making great strides,” Brundage said. “It’s a shame.”
