Bryans Win 2 National Titles
Twins Mike and Bob Bryan of Camarillo won their ninth national doubles championship and Bob Bryan took the singles title Saturday in the United States Tennis Assn. National Clay Court Championships at Louisville, Ky.
The recent Rio Mesa High graduates claimed their fourth national championship in a row with a 7-6, 5-7, 6-2 victory over Mike Russell of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and Kevin Kim of Fullerton in the boys’ 18-and-under division.
Bob Bryan defeated Russell, 6-4, 6-2, in singles and figures to enter next month’s national hard-court championships ranked No. 1 in his age group.
Volleyball
Agoura High setter Heather Barrus has accepted a scholarship to Florida Southern, a Division II school.
