O’Neal Not Too Busy This Week to Miss the Birth of His Daughter
Not long after signing a seven-year, $120 million contract with the Lakers, Shaquille O’Neal returned to Orlando on Thursday to watch the birth of his child, The Orlando Sentinel reported.
According to the Sentinel, O’Neal’s fiancee, Arnetta, gave birth to a healthy baby girl early Friday at Florida Hospital South. The baby was named Taheara. A hospital spokeswoman declined to confirm the report.
Tight security measures were in place to ensure the couple’s privacy, but witnesses said O’Neal had been approached in the hallway for autographs.
O’Neal, a member of the U.S. men’s basketball team, returned to Atlanta on Friday night for the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games.
