Mighty Duck goaltender Guy Hebert was named to the roster of Team USA for the upcoming World Cup hockey tournament. He replaced John Vanbiesbrouck of the Florida Panthers, who is scheduled to undergo shoulder surgery in a few weeks.
The World Cup will be played Aug. 26-Sept. 14.
Hebert is the fourth Duck player to be selected for World Cup teams, joining Paul Kariya (Canada), Teemu Selanne (Finland) and Mikhail Shtalenkov (Russia). The U.S. team will be coached by the Ducks’ Ron Wilson.
