DRIVING A SOFT BARGAIN
How much would you pay to watch a women’s softball game?
Fifty bucks? Seventy-five? A hundred?
If you plan on attending tonight’s gold-medal game at 8,500-seat Golden Park in Columbus, Ga., you’d better dig deeper into your pockets.
Scalpers are asking as much as $200 for the $32 ticket.
Paul Silverman, from Gainesville, Fla., drove from Atlanta on Monday in an attempt to purchase four tickets for his wife and two daughters, who are “huge” softball fans.
Silverman, 38, said he was willing to spend $100 a ticket, a total of $400, to get his family in the game.
“I’m willing to go as high as $150, for two tickets,” he said. “Then I’d have to drop my daughters off here and me and wife would have to go to dinner.”
