City Council members said in May that they would cut some taxes for property owners, and they have made good on their promise.
The assessment for city lighting and landscaping is going down 8.8% for homeowners and 5.6% for business owners during the new fiscal year, which began July 1.
Homeowners will pay $71.44, and owners of commercial property will pay $369.94 an acre. Council members said cost-cutting by city staff made the lower levies possible.
