Fair Names Agriculturist of the Year

Ventura County grower Ellen Brokaw was named Agriculturist of the Year by the Ventura County Fair for her contributions to the agriculture community.
Brokaw co-founded the grower-supported Fruit Fly Action Cooperative Task Force, which alerted area residents of the potentially disastrous economic impacts of a fruit fly infestation.
Ventura County Fair Board President Tom Pecht will present Brokaw with a plaque of appreciation on Agriculture Day at the fair Aug. 24.
