A 33-year-old Oxnard man was arrested Wednesday morning after a search of his home, during which police said they found about 22 grams of cocaine and equipment believed used in selling the drug.

Alfonso Lua was booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of possessing narcotics for sale and is being held in lieu of $40,000 bail.

Before the 9 a.m. search of Lua’s residence in the 200 block of West Wooley Road in Oxnard, police said Lua had already sold narcotics to an undercover officer with the Oxnard Police Department.

Officers with the Port Hueneme and Oxnard police departments who served the search warrant said they also found sheets of paper indicating money that was owed to Lua. A female suspect, who was not identified, was arrested at the residence but later released after an investigation, police said.
