High Temperatures Expected to Retreat
The good news is that it’s going to be cooler early this week in the San Fernando Valley. The bad news is, not by much.
Highs hit 105 on Saturday and 104 on Sunday in Woodland Hills. On Monday, according to meteorologist Curtis Brack, the Valley will top out just a bit lower.
“It could range from the mid-90s around Burbank to a little over 100 on interior locations,” said Brack, who is with the forecasting service WeatherData.
Some rain and even thunderstorms, caused in part by Hurricane Dolly, could hit the Antelope Valley this week. But it won’t likely affect the San Fernando Valley.
“There probably will not be enough moisture,” said Dedric Walker, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard. “We probably won’t have the warming or the moisture that we would probably have in the mountains and the desert.”
Even without the effect of the hurricane, the winds will be bringing more moisture into the high desert from the Gulf of Mexico later in the week. “It looks like right now that same pattern will persist,” Walker said.
