City Bureau Offers Speakers on Request
Looking for an orator to speak about local issues to your organization? The city of Ventura Speaker’s Bureau has 20 city officials available to speak on request to civic clubs, nonprofit agencies and business groups.
Speakers include city employees from administration, public works, the police and fire departments, inspection services and Community Services Department.
Public affairs coordinator Jenise Wagar says the city has updated the program, adding several new topics.
The brochure offers 49 topics. Among the most popular are lectures on the Ventura County Special Olympics, personal safety and golf-course maintenance.
Others include: “Careers in Fire Service for Women” by the Fire Department. “What Are We Doing to Combat Gangs?” by the Police Department. And “Pier Into the Future,” Ventura’s Pier Fund-Raising Campaign, offered by the Community Services Department.
For more information call Wagar at 658-4730.
