SATURDAY: Trick and Treat

Cheap Trick is no cheap date as it will set you back $21.50 to see them perform their hits at the Ventura Theatre. With two decades of experience following their debut in 1977, Chicago-spawned Cheap Trick is far more successful than the Cubs, scoring with hit singles such as “Surrender,” “I Want You to Want Me,” “Dream Police” and “Ain’t That a Shame,” among others.

Second billed for the 8 p.m. show will be Epic Recording artist Suckerpunch, and a prime reason to be on time are the openers out of Thousand Oaks, Mummer, a very tight pop rock group with a couple of tapes to their credit. For more information, call the venue at 648-1888.

Held from 3 to 7 p.m., the fair also will feature continuous live entertainment with performances by the Incan Ensemble, a traditional music and dance troupe, the Santa Rosette Cloggers, plus country music and line-dance instruction. “We will force the public to learn a dance,” said Moorpark recreation supervisor Shelly Shellabarger.

A long list of activities include games and crafts to keep the kids occupied, a makeshift mini golf course, a bike show, exotic animals from Moorpark College’s exotic animal training school and more.
