Bills’ Smith Ends Walkout Threat

Bruce Smith decided to continue playing this season, two days after he threatened to walk out on the Buffalo Bills because of slow contract talks. He hinted, however, at skipping the season opener against the New York Giants.

Miami Dolphin receiver Lamar Thomas entered a Fort Lauderdale, Fla., courtroom holding the hand of his pregnant fiancee, then pleaded innocent to charges that he choked and shoved her.
