Three fewer traffic fatalities were reported on roads in the region between Ventura County and San Diego County than during the same 48-hour period last year, the CHP reported.

Statewide, 19 people died in traffic accidents since Friday evening, up from 17 fatalities for the same time last year, said CHP Officer Ken Lane. Three of this year’s traffic deaths occurred in Los Angeles County, Lane said.
