Fullerton Beats Wisconsin in Men’s Soccer

The Cal State Fullerton men’s soccer team scored three goals in the first 11 minutes and defeated defending national champion Wisconsin, 3-1, in the Reebok Invitational Sunday at Fullerton.
Joey DiGiamarino scored on a free kick about three minutes into the game to give Fullerton a 1-0 lead.
The goal broke a streak of eight consecutive shutouts for Wisconsin and goalie Todd Wilson dating to last season.
Brian Dunseth and Charlie Lynch scored for Fullerton, which was 2-0 in the tournament.
Wisconsin was 0-1-1 in the tournament.
Also Sunday, the University of San Diego beat Western Kentucky, 3-0. San Diego finished second with a record of 1-0-1.
In the Portland State/Nike Challenge:
UC Irvine 4, Portland State 0--Nicole Bucciarelli scored twice early in the second half to give UC Irvine (2-0) a 5-0 lead.
Kelly Dohmann and Tracie Manz scored first-half goals as UC Irvine opened a 2-0 lead at the break. The Anteaters’ other goals were by Anna Klein and Danica Holt.
Stephanie Boes, a senior, made only one save in getting her 23rd career shutout.
