Costa Mesa Woman Killed in Collision
A Costa Mesa woman was killed late Sunday in a two-car, head-on collision at Camp Pendleton, authorities said Monday.
The accident occurred about 11:50 p.m. when a Cadillac driven by U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Faron K. Davis of Brazoria, Texas, crossed into an oncoming lane and hit a Toyota driven by Danielle Mann, 20, of Costa Mesa, officials said.
Mann was pronounced dead at the scene. Davis was taken by helicopter to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, according to U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Brian Nance. Davis was in serious condition Monday evening, Nance said.
The accident, which occurred near the Cristianitos Gate at the north end of the base, is under investigation, he said.
