Boxer to Address Women’s Conference

U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) will visit Ventura County today to deliver the keynote address at a women’s conference and tour an adult education center that teaches computer skills to displaced workers.
The senator from the San Francisco Bay Area will also attend a round-table discussion with county agricultural leaders to discuss export issues at the deep-water Port of Hueneme.
Boxer will begin her day with a noontime tour of the Ventura Adult Education Technology Development Center with county schools Supt. Charles Weis and Joseph Spirito, superintendent of the Ventura Unified School District.
She will cap her brief visit by delivering a speech to the Ventura County Regional Conference for Women at the Doubletree Hotel in Ventura.
