Police were investigating the death of a 1-year-old Sylmar boy who was found not breathing at a house in San Fernando, officials said Friday.
Albert Urena was pronounced dead Thursday morning at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, said Lt. Rico Castro of the San Fernando Police Department.
The cause of death is unknown.
The boy was at a relative’s house in the 1400 block of Knox Street when he stopped breathing. Paramedics took the boy to Holy Cross hospital, but doctors were unable to revive him.
San Fernando police and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives are conducting a joint investigation into his death, Castro said.
