Union Could Help Los Robles Nurses
I read where the nurses at Los Robles Hospital have voted to form a union.
After entrusting my father to Los Robles’ care in his final days, there is no question why: The nurses need all the help they can get.
There isn’t a more dedicated group of nursing professionals and support staff anywhere--including the family physicians. But the Los Robles Medical Center we depended on and respected is no more. In its place we now have the disorganized, demoralized, bottom-line oriented Columbia/Los Robles Hospital.
The people of the Conejo Valley have been “had.” This giant corporation and the doctors who cater to them or risk loss of privileges have invaded our community. It has eliminated the competition and plans to squeeze out profits at the expense of patient care.
The people of the Conejo Valley need to demand that this corporation return to its mission statement and original purpose: serving the community rather than the stockholders and the bottom line.
