Season Premieres, Kickoff of New Shows on Tap Today

Fox isn’t the only one introducing new shows today. Five other non-network series are also making their debut:
* “Access Hollywood”: A rival to “Entertainment Tonight” in covering show business news, 7:30 p.m. on KNBC-TV Channel 4.
* “In Person With Maureen O’Boyle”: Talk show hosted by the former anchor of “A Current Affair,” 2 p.m. on KNBC.
* “Scoop With Sam & Dorothy”: More Hollywood news from Sam Rubin and Dorothy Lucey, 9 a.m. on KTLA-TV Channel 5.
* “The Dating/Newlywed Hour”: New versions, back to back, of “The Dating Game” and “The Newlywed Game,” 10 a.m. on KTTV-TV Channel 11.
* “Blues Clues”: A show for preschoolers about solving puzzles, 12:30 p.m. on Nickelodeon.
Returning series that are launching new seasons today include “Melrose Place” (8 p.m. on KTTV), “Geraldo Rivera” (3 p.m. on KCBS-TV Channel 2), “Bzzz!” (7 p.m. on KTLA) and, on new stations, “The Gordon Elliot Show” (2 p.m. on KCBS) and “Court TV: Inside America’s Courts” (11:30 a.m. on KNBC).
