Reservoir Work Closes Whiting Road Trail
A trail at Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park will be closed through December while construction for a reservoir is underway, officials said.
Visitors will not be able to use Whiting Road Trail while the Irvine Ranch Water District installs pipe along the trail for a 2.5-million-gallon reservoir. Signs posted at park entrances and trail heads will give visitors the latest information on construction.
The reservoir is being built to supply water and fire protection for 1,300 homes in Portola Hills. Completion is expected next spring. Information: (714) 453-5500.
