Play Areas at 2 Parks to Get Rubber Surfaces

Share

Two parks will get about $65,000 in playground improvements under a plan that won City Council approval this week.

The council awarded a contract to Green Giant Landscape Inc. to install a rubber surface for the playgrounds at San Remo Park and Santa Vittoria Park.

It will be the first time such a surface has been used in Laguna Hills, officials said.

Green Giant Landscape outbid six other companies to get the job, offering to do it for about $33,000 less than the next-closest offer, officials said.

That raised some concern among council members that the proposal was too low.

City Engineer Ken Rosenfield reassured them, however, saying he had checked the firm’s background and called the company to confirm its bid.
