Police arrested two juveniles and an adult in connection with a drive-by shooting that left two people wounded, authorities said Saturday.

Police say shots were fired from a moving vehicle at two people who were walking east on Saticoy Street at 6:17 p.m. Friday.

The two victims were taken to Santa Paula Community Hospital, where one was treated and released and the other admitted for observation, authorities said.

After a description of the suspects’ vehicle was broadcast, authorities stopped a car on the Santa Paula Freeway later that night with the help of the CHP. Police say a witness identified thevehicle as being involved in the shooting, and the suspects were taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder.

Santa Paula police, who said they did not know why the shooting took place, refused to release the names of the victims, or of the adult suspect for fear of retaliation, said a department spokeswoman.

The investigation is continuing.
