Lassiter Scores Big for Tampa Bay

U.S. national team player Roy Lassiter scored his league-leading 24th goal Saturday as the Tampa Bay Mutiny defeated the D.C. United, 2-0, in Major League Soccer action before 8,135.

Lassiter, who also leads the league in scoring with 52 points, headed in Frank Hejduk’s crossing passing in the 51st minute to give Tampa Bay a 2-0 lead. Steve Ralston scored the other goal.
