The MOMS Club of Simi Valley, an organization for stay-at-home mothers, has teamed with one of the city’s restaurants to raise money for a local man recently diagnosed with cancer.

Joe-Joe’s Brewing Co. and Restaurant will donate 10% of all food and beverage proceeds from a three-hour period today to the Hill family of Simi Valley.

Ajay Hill, whose wife Mary is a member of the MOMS Club, recently learned he had brain cancer. He must undergo daily treatment, and the couple, who have a 2-year-old daughter named Andrea, are struggling.

The fund-raiser, scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m., is the club’s first such effort for the Hill family. Joe-Joe’s is at 1397 E. Los Angeles Ave.

“If anyone in our club has a need, we all just work to meet that need,” said Lisa Jajko, president of the MOMS Club Simi Valley West chapter.

“This is the biggest need we’ve ever had to address, and we are very grateful for all the help we’ve received, especially from Joe-Joe’s,” she said.

Those interested in assisting the Hill family can call Jajko at 581-4337.
