4 Juveniles Sought in Stabbing of Teenager
A teenager suffered a stab wound Saturday night in a gang-related attack in the west end of the city, authorities said.
Ventura County sheriff’s detectives are looking for four male juveniles in the attack that occurred at 6:25 p.m. in the 600 block of Paseo La Perla, said Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Gullon.
The victim, a 15 year-old male whom authorities would not identify because of his age, had walked to the mailbox and was jumped after a short confrontation, authorities said.
He was stabbed once in the back as he ran away, said Sheriff’s Sgt. David Paige.
The victim was taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks and was treated for a superficial wound, according to Paige.
A resident of Paseo La Perla who did not want to give his name said the neighborhood of condominiums has seen an increase in criminal activity lately. Two ambulances had pulled onto the street and numerous Sheriff’s Department vehicles were cruising the area as well, he said.
“The condominiums bring a lot of lowlifes and the homeowners association hasn’t taken care of the problems,” he said.
Authorities had made no arrests in the case Saturday night. Detectives were following up on several good leads, according to Paige.
