Share

A rummage sale at Mission College Saturday will benefit the school’s physical education and health programs, campus officials said.

The sale, which will offer clothing, books, compact discs and household items including furniture and small appliances, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the faculty parking lot, 13356 Eldridge Ave., Sylmar.

Leslie Milke, vice chairman of the physical education and health programs, said most of the items were donated by students and faculty.

“The students have been very supportive because they know the money goes back to them, and they appreciate that,” Milke said.

“We have a regular budget but it doesn’t go far enough. This sale helps us to get what we need.”

Funds raised by the sale will help pay for new weights and workout equipment, as well as educational videotapes for health courses.
