Agoura Invitational--Oak Park senior Morgan Harrelson placed first with a time of 16 minutes 45 seconds over the three-mile course at Agoura High, but the Chargers placed three runners among the top nine on their home course to edge Moorpark, 47-48, for the team title.

Brandon Heiken placed third in 16:56 for Agoura, Brian Harrison was seventh in 17:30 and Bryan Kay finished ninth in 17:36.

Burbank 15, Beverly Hills 50--Tim Leahy covered the three-mile course in 16:56 as the Bulldogs (6-0) swept the top seven places in a nonleague meet at Griffith Park.

GIRLS’ CROSS-COUNTRY

Agoura Invitational--Joie Pompilio of Westlake placed first with a time of 19:36 over the three-mile course at Agoura High as the Warriors won the team title with 29 points.

Agoura, paced by runner-up Sarah Chulack (19:56), placed second with 40 points.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Van Nuys d. Palisades, 15-6, 15-10, 15-7--Angela Eckmier had 16 kills and 12 blocks as the Wolves (2-0) won a nonconference match at Van Nuys.

Peggy Hongthong had 32 assists for Van Nuys.

Buena d. Rio Mesa, 15-6, 15-2, 15-0--Heather Gudgeon had seven kills and Becky Butler had seven aces for the Bulldogs (3-1, 2-0) in a Channel League match at Rio Mesa.

Louisville d. Oak Park, 15-2, 15-3, 18-16--Jennifer Borncamp had 14 kills and Kira Bosak had 34 assists, boosting the Royals (3-1) at Louisville.

Thousand Oaks d. Channel Islands, 15-4, 15-8, 15-3--Marie Middleton led the Lancers (2-1, 1-1) to a Marmonte League sweep with 10 kills and four aces.

Lancer standout Jenn Detmer did not play because of illness.

Campbell Hall d. Ramona Convent, 15-13, 17-19, 3-15, 15-9, 15-13--Stephanie Thompson had 18 kills and seven aces in the 2 1/2-hour match at Campbell Hall (4-1).

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Hart 9, Glendale 9--The Indians (1-4) won on total games, 78-76, as Jieun Jacobs lost only one game in sweeping three sets at No. 1 singles for the Indians at Glendale.

Simi Valley 16, Newbury Park 2--Mindy Gondez swept at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-2, to lead the Pioneers (5-0, 2-0) in a Marmonte League match at Simi Rancho.

Camarillo 13, Agoura 5--Brynne Chappell and Jenny Underwood swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-0, 6-1, 6-0, for the Scorpions (4-1, 2-0) in a Marmonte League match at Agoura.

HIGH SCHOOL WATER POLO

Rowland Tournament--Alfonso Tucay scored 11 goals as Burroughs (2-7) defeated Claremont, 16-7, in a first-round game.

Tucay had five goals in a 16-7 second-round loss to Bonita, hiking his season total to 65.
