Re “Memorial for Student Prompts Class Walkout,” Sept. 17.
While reading your [article] on Eric Hoggatt, I was greatly disturbed when I came to the part about his death coming 3 1/2 years after the shooting of Michael Ensley at Reseda High. The three or so paragraphs don’t have anything to do with Eric’s death and furthermore [encourage] people to stereotype my school as being unsafe. This information, while relevant at the time, has no place and only cheapens this tragedy and the memory of a fellow student who will be missed and will have a permanent place in many hearts.
