Low-Flush Toilets Available to Residents

Share

Residents of single-family homes in the city are eligible for a toilet exchange program that will replace old, inefficient fixtures with new low-flush models.

Sponsored by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the Municipal Water District of Orange County, the program allows participants to save as much as 10,000 gallons of water a year and decrease water bills by an average of 25%, officials said.

The program offers residents a rebate program and a co-payment option.

With a $40 co-payment and a $15 refundable deposit, Garden Grove residents can pick up a low-flush toilet at the old Costco building, 11822 Gilbert St., on Thursdays or Fridays from noon to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

During the three years that the program has been operating, more than 30,000 low-flush toilets have been installed across Orange County.
