Sticking to their original plan, the Kings decided to keep only two goaltenders on the roster. So, as expected, youngster Jamie Storr was sent to Phoenix of the International Hockey League on Wednesday to get more playing time.

Storr, 20, had a solid camp as he gave up four goals in two games in camp, going 1-1-0.

Forward Craig Johnson, who had his abdominal strain evaluated by a specialist in Vancouver, will not skate for the next 10 days, meaning he will sit out at least the first two weeks of the season. Rob Blake’s status for the season opener Friday against the New York Islanders will be determined today. He is recovering from a partially torn right triceps and elbow infection.
