Sheriff’s Deputy Will Be Promoted
Veteran Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy Craig Husband will be promoted today to the rank of commander.
Husband, who now heads the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department’s narcotics division, will be transferred to Detention Services on Monday.
A 20-year veteran, Husband has also been in charge of the Sheriff’s Training Academy, the personnel division and the major crimes bureau.
He continues to work as the training academy’s defense tactics instructor. And the department has tapped into his expertise by using Husband on its use-of-force committee.
A native of Ventura County, Husband attended Ventura College and received a bachelor of arts degree from UC Santa Barbara. He is working on a master’s degree in public administration from Cal State Northridge.
