WESTMINSTER — A 29-year-old Huntington Beach man was in guarded condition after being stabbed early Sunday during a bar fight, police said.
John Collard was stabbed once in the chest, allegedly by 65-year-old Charles Nolan Myrick of Garden Grove, during the 12:58 a.m. incident at Woodie’s bar, 13093 Springdale St., said Lt. Bob Amren of the Westminster Police Department.
Collard was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Myrick was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, Amren said. His wife, Janet Myrick, was also arrested on suspicion of interfering with police who were trying to book her husband, Amren said.
The men “got into a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical alteration,” Amren said.
