Supervisor Flynn Puts Faith to Test

Share

Once again Supervisor John K. Flynn has exhibited his almost unbelievable level of arrogance with his statement, “People are going to have to learn to put some faith and trust in elected officials.”

It would seem that Mr. Flynn’s constituents have placed faith and trust through their electing him to his current office. It would further seem that the demand for faith and trust is sadly lacking any form of sensitivity to the fact that faith and trust are earned by the officeholder, not freely given by the citizen.

Perhaps Mr. Flynn has served the people of his district and of Ventura County a little too long, resulting in his stated belief that the people, not him, are in need of education.

* Re Supervisor Flynn and Proposition 218.

Mr. Flynn, on whose watch faith and trust in government officials is at an all-time low, now expects us to forget the past and believe.

Prop. 13 and now Prop. 218 are the direct result of taxpayer abuse by our elected officials. It is time for government to do some serious soul-searching as to its duties, including the right of the people to have minimum intrusive government.
