Somali Factions OK Cease-Fire

Somali faction leaders have agreed to a cease-fire that could end six years of civil war. The agreement, mediated by the Kenyan government, was reached after shuttle negotiations in at least three Nairobi hotels. The faction leaders had been talking for about a week. Rival Somali leaders have pledged to stop fighting and talk peace before--and have failed to honor their agreements. But some Somalis believe that weariness with the six-year civil war and the desperate financial situation may help the latest accord take hold.
