Florida Coach Steve Spurrier, who signed a new contract in February, will earn more than $1 million this year, counting bonuses, and the seven-year contract gets higher every season, the Florida Times-Union of Jacksonville reported.
The newspaper, which obtained a copy of Spurrier’s contract, reported he made a little more than $700,000 last year in leading the Gators to their third consecutive Southeastern Conference title and will make $940,810 in base salary this year.
He also gets 12 prime tickets to all home games and “medium-price” cars for himself and his wife. Bonuses include $12,370 for winning the SEC championship, $18,555 for going to a major bowl and $50,000 for winning the national championship.
