Police have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the kidnapping of an illegal immigrant who was held for ransom for three days in an apartment.

Armando Garcia, a McDonald’s worker in Northridge, was arrested at the fast-food restaurant and booked at Men’s Central Jail on suspicion of kidnapping for ransom and false imprisonment, said Det. Tim Byers of the Bell Gardens Police Department.

Garcia is one of four people police believe held an unidentified 25-year-old woman hostage in an apartment in the 15000 block of Nordhoff Street in North Hills.

Two others were previously arrested and another remains at large.

The woman said she escaped last Friday after being held for three days. The woman’s husband was en route to the apartment to pay a $1,500 ransom when she escaped, police said.

That same night, Byers said officers arrested 36-year-old Sara Molina and her 14-year-old son on suspicion of kidnapping and false imprisonment.

After being interviewed by immigration officers, the kidnapped woman was released and reunited with her husband.
