Body Found in Burned Truck
Firefighters called to deal with a burning pickup truck found a man’s charred remains after they extinguished the fire Friday, a Fire Department spokesman said.
The body of the man, thought to have been 20 to 30 years of age, was found about 6:30 p.m. in the truck in the 7300 block of North Tujunga Avenue, the spokesman said.
According to police, witnesses said the man had been carrying canisters of gasoline in the back of the pickup and was smoking.
The incident was still under investigation but police said Friday there was no sign of foul play and they are treating the fire as an accident.
