Paraclete 26, Rosamond 14--Dominic Washington made a potent statement about the furor caused by star running back Sal Iabichella leaving school last week: He scored three touchdowns and gained 245 yards in 32 carries to lead the Spirits (3-3) to victory in their league opener at Rosamond.

With Iabichella now enrolled at Quartz Hill, Washington stepped up to score on runs of two, 48 and four yards.

He opened the game’s scoring with the two-yard run, and then the very next time he touched the ball took it down the right sideline for the 48-yard score. Paraclete never looked back.

For Rosamond (2-4) Mario Varela completed 10 of 19 passes for 122 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown to Marc Lujan to finish the night’s scoring. Eric Nash rushed 10 times for 46 yards.
