A GUY NAMED JOE
It’s a small world in the restaurant business (“Miller’s Outpost,” by S. Irene Virbila, Restaurants, Sept. 15). The “guys from Cafe Katsu” in West Los Angeles who “ventured over the hill” to open their new restaurant, Cafe Bizou, were both trained under Joe Miller at Cafe Katsu in the 1988-89 period when Miller was head chef there. Now Miller is also in the San Fernando Valley with his new restaurant, Joe Joe’s.
