New Age Old Jazz: Soprano saxophonist Jane Ira Bloom, above, brings her modern jazz trio to the Cal State Northridge Performing Arts Center on Saturday night (F16). . . . Theater Awards: The third annual Artistic Directors’ Awards honored members of the Valley Theatre League this week, proving that the San Fernando Valley does appreciate live theater. . . . Animal Rescue: The Wildlife Waystation, a rehabilitation center and haven for wild and exotic animals in Tujunga, is providing refuge for animals injured or displaced by the current wildfires. The Waystation also performs rescues and operates a hotline where it gives advice about how to handle situations involving wild animals, said Executive Director Martine Colette.
