Thisnearlywasmine, making his first start in California since breaking his maiden by 5 1/2 lengths at Hollywood Park in July, upset heavily favored In Excessive Bull in the $76,780 Sunny Slope Stakes on Wednesday at Santa Anita.
Ridden by Chris McCarron for owners Jan, Mace and Samantha Siegel and trainer Randy Bradshaw, the 7-2 second choice won by three-quarters of a length in 1:08 2/5 for the six furlongs.
In Excessive Bull was second and Stolen Gold third.
There is a Pick Six carryover for today of more than $80,000.
