Neither starting defensive end Willie Lowery nor defensive tackle Cedric Jefferson will make the trip to Washington State today. Lowery has a sprained ankle and Jefferson a sprained knee.

Cornerback Daylon McCutcheon and wide receiver Larry Parker were at practice Thursday, after suffering minor groin injuries Wednesday.

One-time middle linebacker starter Taso Papadakis, out most of the season because of an ankle sprain, told Coach John Robinson that he might return to practice next week.

The running game has been emphasized all week and starting guard Chris Brymer said an improved rush is mandatory for USC at Washington State.

“We’re going to have to run to win this game, to take the pressure off Brad [Otton],” he said. “And they have a good rushing defense.” WSU ranks fourth against the run in the Pac-10.
