In the Flou

It would be very hard to get up on the wrong side of a bed made by Flou of Italy, because comfort and luxury go hand in hand in the designs.

Specializing in the “art of sleeping,” Flou’s beds are made to meet your requirements.

“The designers have a product line that fulfills every need, from high-style contemporary beds to sofa beds and storage solutions,” says Francesca Bianchi, owner of Dormire in Santa Monica, the exclusive distributor of Flou furniture.

In addition to comfort, easy upkeep was important to designers. For instance, all of the upholstered headboards, frames and seating are slipcovered for easy laundering. Using slipcovers also makes it easy to change the look for the seasons.

To complement the beds, side tables, chests, benches, chairs, such as the Georgia model ($680) and love seats are available, as well as pillows and other linens.

Prices vary for the beds, depending on requirements and fabrics. For more information, call Dormire at (888) 367-6473. The store is at 1345 4th St.

In Full Fig

Dress up your room with parfum from Calvin Klein.

His first home fragrance, Fig Tree, reflects the spare, understated elegance of Klein’s designs.

“I wanted to take a modern approach to scent the home,” Klein said. “Fig Tree is a clean scent, capturing the essence of the whole fig tree. I also wanted it to have the same minimal, discreetly luxurious feeling of the Calvin Klein home collection.”

There are three elements ($30 each) to the home fragrance collection.

The fragrance comes in a frosted glass cylinder with a black maple wood cap. The candle, inspired by a tumbler in the home line, is designed to burn for 30 hours. The potpourri, which includes rose petals, orchids and eucalyptus leaves, has been freeze-dried to retain the original beauty of the plants.
