By Flattening Montana State, CSUN Keeps Rolling Along

Looking less and less like a team that started out 0-8, the steamroller known as the Cal Sate Northridge women’s volleyball team continued flattening everything in its path with a 15-3, 15-1, 15-9 Big Sky Conference blowout of Montana State on Saturday night.

Once again, the Matadors’ unofficial foreign exchange program led the way. Junior middle blocker Getty Dimitrova of Sofia, Bulgaria, had 14 kills, and senior outside hitter Nancy Ma from Zheng Zhou, China, added 13 kills and nine digs.

Dimitrova and Ma each had 25 kill attempts with just two errors, for kill percentages of .480 and .440, respectively.

Senior setter Heather Hofmans had 37 assists for Northridge (13-9, 10-0 in conference). She showed no ill effects from the sprained right ankle incurred in Wednesday night’s upset of 18th-ranked Notre Dame.

Julie Weir had 11 digs and three aces for the Matadors, which held the Bobcats (16-7, 7-5) to an attack percentage of .080.

Jennifer Elliot had 12 kills and nine digs for Montana State. Kira Laden added 28 assists and nine digs.
