Sheriff’s Dept. Loans Interim Police Chief to S. Pasadena
The City of South Pasadena named a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department captain as its acting police chief Monday.
Captain John E. Anderson, on loan from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, will take over as the city’s acting police chief Oct. 29, said Interim City Manager Linda Holmes.
Police Chief Thomas Mahoney continues to be absent on a stress-related leave that began almost three months ago, just as a probe of his troubled department was launched by city officials.
Anderson is a 29-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Department.
